I plan to travel to Uganda in February 2024 with the Fields of Life International Development Organisation. The purpose of my trip to Uganda is twofold:
1. I want to fundraise for a well to be drilled in Eastern Uganda to provide clean, safe water to a community. The cost of a new well is €10,000. My aim is to raise €5,000 over the summer of 2023 and for every euro I raise I will donate a euro of my own money until we reach the €10,000 target.
2. Fields of Life has established a Vocational Training Institute in Gulu, Northern Uganda. The students there are aged 16-24 and have grown up in a world scarred by brutal conflict where many children were kidnapped and forced to become child soldiers or sex slaves. These brave and inspiring young people are living with the impact of the trauma they have endured. I have a skill to offer here – I am an experienced psychotherapist and have done specialist training in living with and beyond trauma. Alongside the local community that is working so hard to support the students I would like to see if I can add to the resources provided, on this trip and into the future.
I will be funding my travel costs myself, everything donated will go directly to Fields of Life.
My husband Alan has created a beautiful original painting of 'The Cove' in Greystones and we're raffling it off to raise money for the well. There will only be 150 tickets sold.

Thanks so much for your support!
