Well done to all the cyclists for Marymount
Mallow Farmers Group is organising the Jeremiah Ronayne Memorial Cycle from
Malin to Mizen. This is in aid of Marymount Hospice.
Jeremiah was a great farmer, friend and colleague of ours, who involved himself in all
aspects of voluntary life in his local community. Unfortunately, he recently lost his brave fight against cancer, which he fought with all the positivity and energy that he displayed throughout his life.
We, his friends, wanted to commemorate his life and fundraise for Marymount hospice which is a tremendous resource for so many families.
Twenty of us farmers and our support team have started training to cycle from Malin to
Mizen during the first week of September 2024. As you can appreciate, this is no small
undertaking for a group, probably lacking a little bit in fitness and too many years on the clock. However, there is a determination to carry it out and to make it a success. All the
costs and expenses associated with the cycle will be borne by the group and all money raised will be going to Marymount which was amazing to Jeremiah and his family.
At Marymount University Hospital & Hospice we offer you three distinct services: Our Hospital offers respite, intermediate palliative and residential care services for the older person. Our Hospice offers specialist palliative care services, at both inpatient and community level. Our Education Centre offers University and other courses, placement and conference facilities.
