***Due to the great success on https://www.idonate.ie/fundraiser/ShaunaLevins4DogsAid I have decided to continue the fundraising for Dogs Aid but also include My Lovely Horse Rescue (MLHR) and Husky Rescue Ireland (HRI). All donations on the previous page are automatically carried over***
Background
I am a volunteer at Dogs Aid and have bought 2x Pitch tickets for Coldplay in Croke Park, Dublin on the 30th of August which I am raffling off for Dogs Aid, My Lovely Horse Rescue and Husky Rescue Ireland. All money raised on this page will be split equally amongst these 3 charities.
How do I enter?
Donate a minimum of €10 and include your name. If you do not complete your name it appears as 'Anonymous' and cannot be included. The more money donated, the more entries into the raffle.
What are the prizes?
If you would like to donate a prize please contact [email protected]
Why the second fundraising page?
Unfortunately once a fundraising page is activated, you cannot add another charity. As the first fundraiser was a major success, I wanted to add MLHR and HRI but was unable to without setting up another page. All donations from the previous page will be carried over (I have everyone's name in an Excel ;-)).
Why these two additional charities?
Dogs Aid, My Lovely Horse Rescue and Husky Rescue Ireland have worked together for many years saving all types of furries. We help each other out when needed and unfortunately due to the animal crisis in Ireland, this help is always needed.
How is the money split?
At the end of the fundraiser the total amount on this page (minus the transaction fees) will automatically be split evenly between Dogs Aid, MLHR & HRI. In order for a charity to be set up on iDonate, a number of checks are done.
How else can I help?
About Dogs Aid Animal Sanctuary

Dogs Aid are a volunteer-run charity located in Meakstown, Finglas, Dublin. The sanctuary is run by original founder Maggie with the support of volunteers. Since it's initial founding, the sanctuary has now opened a cat sanctuary (although we are still known as Dogs Aid :-)).
Like most other animal sanctuaries around the country, Dogs Aid are at complete capacity. The money raised through this donation will go straight to the sanctuary to better the facilities and help more animals in need.
Dogs Aid have a no destruction policy and will never put a recoverable dog or cat to sleep. There are many forever cats and dogs at the sanctuary, who might be too old or too bold to rehome. These forever cats and dogs will have a safe place for however long is needed.
Dogs Aid take in stray and unwanted cats and dogs, treat and look after them until a home can be found. Volunteers come to the sanctuary each day to give the animals as normal a life as possible until they get rehomed.

About Husky Rescue Ireland

https://www.facebook.com/huskyrescueire/
Husky Rescue Ireland (HRI) was set up to alleviate the suffering caused to huskies by irresponsible ownership, abuse and neglect in Ireland. Due to the increase in akitas needing homes recently and lack of rescue space, we also dedicate our time rehoming them. HRI also aims to reduce the social impact of abandoned and un-neutered huskies and akitas in communities around Ireland. Some of the key objectives of HRI are to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome healthy neutered dogs responsibly and to educate and provide support to the general public on responsible dog ownership and dog welfare. HRI aim to achieve the this through forging strong relationships with pounds and rescues throughout Ireland.
HRI will also provide each dog with high quality healthcare, training and ensure their basic needs are met. There are several beneficiaries to the work that HRI do, these include: the dogs themselves, state funded pounds throughout Ireland, new and potential owners through on going support and the general public through support and information provision.
While HRI is currently located in Co. Laois we rescue huskies the length and breadth of Ireland from pounds, as strays and owner surrenders
My Lovely Horse Rescue

MLHR was established in 2011, run mainly by volunteers determined to end the suffering of animals in Ireland. Despite the name, MLHR rescue cats, dogs, pigs, goats, sheep and may other furries. The charity rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes unwanted, neglected and abused animals with the aim of giving them a life worth living. We believe that all animals deserve kindness, compassion and our deepest respect. We’ve created a safe haven for our rescued friends at our three farms where we make sure that each and every one of them has a life worth living. My Lovely Horse Rescue is a registered charity operating in the Leinster and Cork regions. We rescue, rehabilitate and rehome equines and other animals; we assist authorities in moving equines to a place of safety; we advocate for the enforcement of animal welfare legislation and we educate around issues of responsible horse ownership.MLHR
MLHR has two rescue centres in Co Kildare. Our main centre is a 40 acre farm which was originally an old dairy farm. It has a charming little two-storey farmhouse where our volunteers can sleep over when they’re on duty and where everyone can eat lunch in our cosy farm kitchen surrounded by our rescue dogs who have the full run of the place. You also may often find yourself munching beside one of the pigs or mini horses who try their luck and sneak in! Our other centre is located at the home of our founder Cathy Davey. Her farm has become the base of My Lovely Pig Rescue and here Cathy is pioneering animal welfare treatment for pigs and farmed animals in general. She also looks after some of the equines who, due to ill health, cannot be rehomed. We opened our MLHR Cork center in 2018. This is based on the family farm of Jeannette O’Connell through whose amazing kindness we have been able to establish our first base outside Leinster. The center is run by Kelly Mellerick and through the efforts of both these women and their small but dedicated volunteer team they have achieved so much in such a short space of time.
It’s a much smaller center than our Kildare ones and they usually have around 25 equines in their care. They may be a small operation but they have rescued over 100 equines since they started. They go to callouts all across Munster and also rescue horses from the pound. They have saved so many lives and we are beyond proud of our Southern operation.
What a fab prize for some fab causes

Dogs Aid was set up in 1987 to help unwanted and abandoned dogs in Dublin. We have a no destruction policy so as a result we have a number of Forever Dogs who are "too old or too bold" to be rehomed. We also have look after cats, and wildlife including birds, foxes, hedgehogs among others. We are entirely staffed by volunteers and funded by public donations.

My Lovely Horse Rescue was set up in 2012 to deal with the vast numbers of horses, ponies and donkeys abandoned as a result of Ireland's equine crisis. We began with one borrowed horse box, one small paddock and the will to change things for the equines we came into contact with. Since then, by using fosterers, livery yards and private trainers we have taken in over 80 equines in varying states of neglect and abuse and rehabilitated, trained and re homed those who were ready.
