I'm taking part in Miles for Myeloma Ireland.

Just a few months ago - long months, short months (the days can be long, but the years are short) - our mother was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. 

Luckily they caught it incredibly early and were in a position to start treatment very early. One thing they could tell us - the earlier the better for these things. 

But as we proceed through this journey, we've discovered how much they can do with little information. We've also discovered how much we - as a family - could do with support to understand the diagnosis, what happens next, and how we can support our mother. 

And so we know more resources are required for research, for education and ultimately for better outcomes for every patient with a similar diagnosis. 

We are walking 600 km between us in the month of September to raise funds for Multiple Myeloma research, education and quality of life for patients.
