After being diagnosed with Crohn's Disease last year I joined the Irish Society for Colitis and Crohn's Disease which is a patient support group that helps patients meet other patients and provides them with all the information and support they could possibly give. As they are a voluntary run organisation and there is very little awareness about both these diseases, funds are needed to help run events for the patients to attend and for many other operations inside the charity. Joining the ISCC and meeting the volunteers and patients really helped me come to terms with my diagnosis and take another outlook on my bad luck.
