This August we are challenging you to break out your boots and hike 40km to show your support for cancer research. Whether hiking in the mountains or by the sea, or even hiking past the shops, wherever you choose to hike will count!
You can spread the total distance out across the entire month of August or you might prefer to take excursions at the weekend!!! Find the pace that works for you with the full 40kms to be completed by Saturday 31st August 2024.

Breakthrough Cancer Research funds the efficient and effective development of new treatments for cancer. We work to significantly impact the number of people who can survive this disease. Research programmes funded by Breakthrough Cancer Research must focus on translating lab discoveries into new treatment opportunities. To this end we work closely with clinicians in practice all over Ireland so that our research is targeted at finding new options for poor prognosis and incurable cancers.
