Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page on iDonate.ie Having come through these past 16 months or so relatively unscathed, I have had a feeling inside that I need to do something to give back. I have been lucky enough so far, not to need the services of a charitable organisation, however I spent two years working as a volunteer for the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre ten years ago and the experience has stayed with me. The DRCC offer so many services to survivors of sexual assault and to their family and friends. The voices and faces of the survivors I met during my time with DRCC have stayed somewhere inside of me. Their strength and bravery have been inspirational to me every day since. The support that is offered by this wonderful organisation helps these people to find their voice again in a safe place. This work is beyond humbling. To meet people in the immediate aftermath of their experience or in the depths of long standing suffering and hold a space for them to heal themselves was an absolute privilege. Like so many organisations DRCC are relying on donations in order to continue offering these invaluable services. So please help me to help them.
